1. Why do we rake lawns in the spring? Question from Monday.
Answer: In the spring it is a good idea to rake your lawn to clean it up and make it look nice. Raking your lawn can also keep your grass green. If you let the leaves sit there extremely wet from the winter it can kill your grass because the grass isn’t exposed to any sunlight. I know this from experience. Raking your lawn also gives you good exercise, works your arm and leg muscles. It makes you spend more time with your family if you are all out there raking together. That is why we should rake our lawns in the spring.

Thanks Jackie. You were the only one to answer this question. Extra marks!

2. Where does the baby koala get these bacteria?  Question from Tuesday.
Answer: The baby koala gets these bacteria from a substance called pap (specialized type of feces, or droppings, which forms an essential part of a young koala’s diet).  Pap is thought to come from the cecum, which is connected to the small and large intestines.  It allows the mother to pass on micro-organisms to her joey present in her own digestive system. (I was just looking for: eats mother's poop.)

Nice work Sofia and Meghan. Sofia was first, but you were the only two to answer. Thanks! Extra marks for both of you! Thank you Avesta for handing in. A little technical glitch kept it off my radar.

Such responsible students! ;)
